The E0 error code in air conditioning systems can have two main meanings, depending on the brand of the unit. Below, we break down these meanings and the possible solutions:


1. Issues with the Electronic Board (EEPROM)

For most brands, the E0 error code is associated with failures in the electronic board, either in the indoor or outdoor unit. Specifically, this error indicates problems with the EEPROM memory in the affected module.

Common brands with this meaning:

  • York

  • Daewoo
  • Midea

Steps to fix EEPROM-related issues:

  1. Disconnect the power supply:
    • Turn off the unit and unplug it from the electrical outlet.
    • Wait several minutes before reconnecting it.
  2. Reconnect and restart:
    • Plug the unit back in and turn it on. Check if the E0 error persists.
    • If the issue is in the EEPROM, the error code may change multiple times.
  3. Visual inspection of the electronic module:
    • Examine the external electronic module for visible damage.
    • Locate the controller on the board and the closest integrated circuit with eight terminals (four on each side).
  4. Check resistors near the EEPROM memory:
