Diagnosing Temperature Sensor Failures

If you suspect an issue with the sensors, follow these steps to identify and resolve the problem:

1. Restart the System

  • Turn off the air conditioner and unplug it for several minutes.
  • Power it back on and check if the error persists.

2. Inspect the Connections

  • Clean and check the sensor connections to ensure they are secure.
  • Confirm the sensor is properly positioned.

3. Measure the Sensor’s Resistance

  • Disconnect the sensor from the electronic board.
  • Use a multimeter to measure its resistance.
  • Compare the results with the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • If reference values are unavailable, gently warm the sensor with your fingers: its resistance should decrease as the temperature increases.

4. Check the Sensor’s Power Supply

  • With the sensor connected, use a multimeter set to DC voltage to measure the supplied voltage.
  • A reading close to 2.5 V indicates proper operation.

5. Inspect the Electronic Board

  • If the sensor and its connections are in good condition but the error persists, the electronic board might not be supplying the correct voltage.

  • Detecting issues like freezing, overheating, or extreme temperature fluctuations.
